FORMAT & IN-GAME RULES

Competition Format

Double-Elimination Bracket
Players must win 3 rounds to win the Game
In the event of Double KO on Game Winning Round, no score will be reported and Game will be repeated
All players must immediately report issues to Tournament Organizers (technical or otherwise)
Once a game begins, players must not pause the game unless there is an issue
Game settings will be default or recommended settings set by the Tournament Organizer
All players must use default outfit for all characters
Azucena Outfit 4 is STRICTLY PROHIBITED and will result in player disqualification
Special Style is allowed

MATCH PROCEDURE

1 Players must agree which side to play (right/left); if no agreement is reached, they must decide using rock/paper/scissors
2 Players choose their characters. Players may elect for a double-blind selection.
3 Players must select a random stage for the First Game
4 Winner of Previous Game must keep their Character
5 Loser of Previous Game may switch Stage and keep their previous character, or switch characters and select a random stage

PROCEDURAL RULES

Double Blind Character Selection

Either player may request that a double-blind selection occur. In this situation, a designated referee or TO will be told, in secret, each of the player's choices for the first round.

Pausing

If a player either intentionally or accidentally pauses the game by pressing the start button or unplugging their controller, the offending player must forfeit a round.

Restarts

Tournament Organizers may approve a full or partial game restart due to exceptional circumstances, such as a power outage.

Stalling

Stalling, or excessively delaying the game or match, may result in a game or match forfeit at the discretion of the TOs.

Alting

Players may not use alternate accounts and/or deliberately hide their identities to manipulate seeding or to appear twice on the ranking.

Colorblind Clause

Players may request that their opponent change colors to accommodate colorblindness or if their color is indistinguishable from the stage background.

Warm-Ups/Button Check

Warm-up periods and controller tests may not exceed 30 seconds on the in-game timer. Violation may result in automatic forfeit.

Coaching

Coaching, defined as deliberately giving or receiving advice during a match or between matches during Grand Finals, is not allowed.

Tardiness

Any players not present for their match by 15 minutes past the scheduled start time, without prior communication with TOs, is subject to total disqualification.

Collusion

Players suspected of colluding may be immediately disqualified from the tournament. This includes intentionally throwing a match or splitting a payout.

Controller Interference

If a player's controller is found to be the cause of disruption to a tournament, such player is subject to complete disqualification.

Misinterpretation
/Misconfiguration

If a game was played under a misconfiguration that could have materially affected the result, a player may petition the TO to have that game replayed.

Final Rulings

If any unforeseen situations occur, the judgment of TOs are final. The TO reserves the right to alter rules or format during the tournament.

Controllers

Any controller is permitted provided that it does not use a macro or turbo function. TOs may inspect any controller at any time.

CODE OF CONDUCT

All Players are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship and maintain respect for one another and for Tournament Organizers, and spectators. Players must follow all instructions of the Tournament Organizers and related staff. Players are expected to play at their best at all times within the Tournament and to avoid any behavior inconsistent with the principles of good sportsmanship, honesty, or fair play. Any Player behaving inappropriately, or not competing in compliance with these Official Rules (including the Game Play Rules), as determined by the Tournament Organizers in their sole discretion, may be immediately disqualified from the Circuit or Tournament and forfeit all potential prizes. Further, the tournament organizers reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to ban disqualified Players from any future tournament or event organized by Virtuocity/Team Mana.
Behavior that is considered to be inappropriate and in violation of the Code of Conduct includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Interfering with the operation of the tournament, the stream, Team Mana/Virtuocity official accounts, and equipment, or the season/circuit
Acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with the intent to disrupt or undermine the legitimate operation of the tournament or to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person
Engaging in collusion (e.g., any agreement between two [2] or more Players to pre-determine the outcome of a Game or Match)
Cheating of any sort through any means
Intentionally delaying or slowing gameplay or tampering with gameplay in any other known or unknown manner
Offensive, vulgar or obscene User Names, avatars, logos, branding, or gamertags
Any form of prejudice or bigotry
Engaging in violence or any activity which is deemed in the judgment of the tournament organizers to be immoral, unethical, disgraceful, or contrary to common standards of decency
Engaging in any activity that is illegal in the State of Qatar
Offering any gift or reward to a player or tournament organizer for assistance designed to provide a competitive advantage
Making any modification to the game that has not been disclosed to and authorized by the tournament organizers
Intentionally using any in-game bugs or so-called "hacks" to seek an advantage
Using any language or wearing any clothing or apparel that is obscene, foul, vulgar, insulting, threatening, abusive, libelous, slanderous, defamatory or otherwise offensive or objectionable
Using any tournament facilities, services or equipment provided or made available by the tournament organizers to post, transmit, disseminate or otherwise make available any communications prohibited by this Code of Conduct
Taking any action or performing any gesture directed at an opposing player, official or spectator, or inciting any other individuals to do the same, which is insulting, mocking, disruptive or unsportsmanlike
Touching or otherwise interfering with lights, cameras, or other production equipment
Engaging in any other type of behavior or conduct deemed inappropriate by the tournament organizers in their sole discretion
Otherwise violating these Official Rules
Any player who violates the Code of Conduct may be disqualified, and the tournament organizers reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such player to the fullest extent permitted by law.
